American Stewards | Senate Hearings This Week

The Senate National Parks Subcommittee will be taking up Four National Heritage Area bills and 26 new National Park bills in a hearing this Wednesday.  You can check out the Committee Bill list to see if any of these are in your area.  The subcommittee hearing will take place October 6th at 10 a.m. ET.  You can watch the webcast live on the committee’s website.

Additionally, the full Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources will be considering updates to the 1872 Mining Act at 10 a.m. ET today.  There are concerns that Hardrock miners are not paying enough in royalties to the federal government.
