Dr. Sloan is a veterinarian and the owner of Sloan Ranch located in Aliso Canyon, California.

He is a 4th generation rancher and is also President of the Ventura County Coalition of Labor, Agriculture, and Business (CoLAB).
His involvement in his community and agriculture can not be overstated as he has worked tirelessly to protect the property rights of those in his community.
