    SPECIAL REPORT | Desalination: A monopoly on western water

    Lake Powell and Mead are at the lowest point since their construction. The water, too many folks in the west, especially the farmers, is a serious concern. Now a resolution is starting to emerge in the mainstream that, on the surface, appears will provide us with an abundance of water and forever secure Arizona’s water future. According to politicians, government institutions, and environmental groups, desalination in the Sea Of Cortez and Porto Libertad, Mexico will provide abundant water and is the cure-all solution to our current water issues.

    ACTION ALERT | Table Mesa Recreation Area Management Plan Revision

    The Bureau of Land Management is seeking comments from the public concerning the revision of the Table Mesa Area Resource Management Plan. The emendation will set the Bureau’s objectives for managing recreation in the 11,500-acre project area for the next several years. The project is on the west side of Interstate 17 stretching from New River to Black Canyon City. The project area contains multiple technical vehicle trails, target shooting areas, camping areas, staging areas, and river access areas that will be affected by the proposed action.
